(Click for printable map)
We live in Borgo Berga 140 which later changes its name to Riviera Berica and passes the
Rotonda going out of town.
Approaching Vicenza from Venice (east)
(Click here for a photo tour from the highway A4 east exit and precise directions)
Arriving on the highway (A4) from Venice or
Padova get off at Vicenza Est (Caserma Ederle)
and look for signs to Rivera Berica.
You will have to go around a big circle and head back towards the highway, remember to follow
the brown signs to Rivera Berica (SR 247).
Stay to the right over the overpass heading south to Rivera Berica, you will see the United
Parcel Service building (UPS) on the other side of the highway. At this point you will
be parallel to the highway, follow it towards the Berici hills for another 2 kilometers to the
1st exit.
Get off at the Riviera Berica exit, you will go around a circle and make a left turn onto
Rivera Berica heading towards downtown Vicenza.
Note that even though the sign at this point indicates Rivera Berica to
the right, DO NOT TURN RIGHT AND PASS UNDER THE HIGHWAY!
This is actually Riviera Berica, so turn left and head towards downtown
Vicenza. Click
here for a picture and more detailed directions.
Go down Rivera Berica 3 kilometers passing Villa Capra (La Rotonda) till you see a
Benza
Station on the left and traffic light just past it.
Remember that we live on this street just past the traffic light, so do not turn right and go
over the bridge, just proceed straight.
Turn left into Via Tiepolo about 200 meters past the traffic light to get off the busy road
and park the car.
Walk back 30 meters on Borgo Berga towards the light and ring the bell
with our names on it (Bob Brown and Jenny Daothong).
Approaching Vicenza from Milano (west)
(Click here for a photo tour from the highway A4 west exit and precise directions)
If you arrive from Verona the best thing is to take the autostrada (highway) and get off at the Vicenza Ovest (West Vicenza) exit.
When you come out of the exit you will pass over a bridge crossing the
highway and then reach a big circle. At this point it is probably easier
to simply follow the signs to Rivera Berica along the access road which
runs parallel to the highway. After passing thru 2 tunnels you
will reach the Riviera Berica exit, follow directions above to our
B&B from the east or click here
for more detailed directions.
If you prefer to pass thru the industrial zone which is a bit shorter, follow the signs to downtown Vicenza (Centro)
instead of continuing along the access road which runs parallel to the
highway and stay to the
right.
DO NOT go over the bridge, follow signs to Viale del
Lavoro and La Fiera, turning right at the circle.
At the end of the road (about 600 meters long) take a left and follow the road (it'll curve around but stay on it) until you go up a hill.
At that point you will actually be above the train tracks.
Keep going on that same road above the train tracks for another 400 meters or so and stay in the right lane.
You will reach a point where the road either turns left or goes down a hill to the right, go down the hill (Borgo Berga).
That point is called Porta Monte and there is a big arch on the right with steps leading up to Monte Berico.
Go down the hill to the right on Borgo Berga and turn right about 400 meters down onto Via Tiepolo (to get off the main road), our house is on Borgo Berga just past Via Tiepolo a little further on, number 140.
If you reach a traffic light with a bridge to the left then you've gone too far.
You can turn around at the Benza station just past the traffic light where the bridge is, they know us and can help you if you are lost.
*
If you get lost just ask for directions to La Rotonda and once there just head towards the city on Borgo Berga (Riviera Berica) turning left onto Via Tiepolo (so you can stop the car) after the
traffic light where the bridge to the stadium is.
