Lodging in Vicenza halfway between Venice and Verona

Vicenza Est

If you approach Vicenza from the east, coming from Venice and passing thru Padova or coming down from northern Europe, take the Vicenza Est exit  (Caserma Ederle) on the A4 Autostrada and keep an eye out for the brown signs to Riviera Berica as you get off the highway. You will have to go nearly all the way around the circle and head back towards the highway (see photo). 

Remember to follow the brown signs to Rivera Berica (SR 247) and DO NOT head straight for downtown Vicenza. Stay to the right as you leave the circle and you will see more signs for Rivera Berica taking you up and over an overpass.  You will be heading south at this point towards the Berici Hills next to the A4 highway which continues on to Verona and Milano.  If you miss the East exit follow directions from Vicenza West.
