Restituzioni (Art restorations)

The biennale "Restituzioni" is held in autumn at palazzo Leoni Montanari, a rare example of baroque architecture which merits a visit itself.  It offers works of art and masterpieces that have been restored after decades (and in some cases centuries) of being withheld from the public.  These works of art come from museums and churches in the Veneto and Lombardia regions of Italy.

The restorations offer a rare glimpse of ancient Roman civilization, with statues of emperors, noblemen and other public figures of the times.  These masterpieces include works of art which are mostly unknown to the general public, by Italian artists like Botticelli, Carpaccio, Palma il vecchio, Tintoretto, Strozzi and Veronese.  On display are also works of art and jewelry by the original inhabitants of Vicenza and the Veneto region.
