Riviera Berica

Both La Rotonda (Villa Capra) and our guesthouse are on Riviera Berica, but the name changes to Borgo Berga where we live once you pass the traffic light where the bridge to the stadium is.  Get off the access road at the first exit and follow the signs to Villa Capra and downtown Vicenza.

The Berici hills pictured here and behind our house are famous for tartufo or "truffles".  There are a lot of fine restaurants up in the hills serving risotto al tartufo along with a number of agriturismos which produce their own assortment of salami and sausages.  The area is also well known for its fine wine, particularly the village of Costozza down Riviera Berica where you can sample a variety of locally made wines and pick some up at very reasonable prices.  Just past Costozza is Lumignano, a haven for rock climbers.
