Second courses in Italy are what most people would consider the "main course". In general, secondi piatti are either fish, meat or poultry of some kind, although it is not uncommon to find vegetarian dishes or cheese plates served as a second course. Vicenza has its own unique food culture and customs, with Venetian influences in its seafood and Northern European influence in its meat dishes.
